Catchment gauzes with high Palladium content
We product ( or OEM) catchment gauzes with high palladium content. According to the different users having ammonia oxidation furnaces with various pressure, temperature, ammonia and air mixed gas flow, different catchment gauzes are designed and installated. They have the advantage of high rate and good effect of recovery.
Principle of Palladium recovery:
The consumed Platinum is evaporated in the form of PtO2 particles, then they are captured and reduced by the “loss” of the palladium. The redox reactions happen on the net surface: PtO2+Pd →PdO2+Pt.
During the production of nitric acid, catalyst gauze are woven by platinum rhodium alloy wires. When the ammonia is oxidized, catalytic gauze is consumed obviously, and the consumption is the second cost followed by the ammonia. Therefore, that the consumed Pt can be recycled efficiently is an important measure to reduce cost and increase economic benefits.
The advantages are as follows:
ØImproving the production of nitric acid. The mixed gases with ammonia and air which are unreacted completely passing through Pt catalyst gauze continue to react to NO on the surface of the palladium net, which improves the conversion rate of ammonia oxidation.
ØProtecting Pt catalyst gauze. Palladium catchment gauze consist of three layers with two layers of stainless steel and the middle layer of Palladium alloy. The gauze is placed under the Pt catalyst gauze, which can protect deformation (because of the heat) and fragmentation of Pt gauze (because of deformation of bracket).
